Volunteer Tools

Home Projects

Did you know that over 200 volunteers work for the National Trust on the Purbeck Estate? On other major Trust properties the volunteers are highly visible as room guides etc. On the Purbeck Estate they mostly work unseen in the countryside.

We asked the Purbeck Estate staff how we could spend money that we’d raised. High on their list was the purchase of new tools for the volunteers who work at maintaining the heathland, keeping down the gorse etc. This needs tools that are a bit tougher (and hence more expensive) than those used by casual gardeners.

We donated £1500, and below you can see some of the results.
