Home About Us Diary Visits Talks Social Events Short Breaks Contact us Links

We try to hold a series of social events for members and their friends through the year. The idea is to give members a chance to meet each other and enjoy themselves, without the whole-day commitment involved in most of the outings.

We hold some of them in the evenings to make them more accessible for people who can't get to our daytime events. Booking forms for all events are in the latest Newsletter, or you can ask the Publicity Secretary to email you a booking form.

Unlike our outings, transport isn't provided unless stated.

Please remember to enclose a stamped addressed envelope with all bookings

Booking forms for September onwards will come with the next  Newsletter

All planned events are now postponed.

Barbecue

This year ‘’Ball and Socket’’, much celebrated local entertainers, are coming to join us. Their highly amusing and topical musical observations will certainly add spice to our annual summer barbecue. There will be a refreshing glass of cheer to welcome you but do bring your own wine and glasses, or beverage of choice, to accompany your meal, but remember to bring a bottle opener or corkscrew.

Jim, our National Trust Chef, will be hoping to add to our enjoyment by showing off his culinary skills providing a feast of locally sourced meat and vegetarian options as well as a good selection of salads and a pudding to follow.

Do come and be part of a PANT evening of chatter, laughter and making friends.

Fun Croquet with Fish & Chips

Another year – another chance to play Golf Croquet! After a very successful evening last year we once again offer the opportunity to learn something about the skill and tactics of Golf Croquet, a game that can be enjoyed on many levels.

Mallets will be provided, and we hope the bar will be open.

We will go ahead unless the sky opens and the ground becomes waterlogged, in which case a game of ‘Call my Bluff’ will take place in the pavilion.

The cost includes fish and chips and either tea or coffee. You can choose from cod and chips, haddock (grilled or fried) and chips, or scampi and chips. Make your choice on the application form.
